Wednesday February 22, 2017

While the forecast didn’t exactly cooperate with our plans for today the skiing remains surprisingly good overall. Low angle groomers were where the softest snow was found today. Upper mountain steeps were more technical with firm packed powder and frozen granular as the predominant surface condition. Chute was skiing well thanks to a whole bunch of human groomin’, which helped to loosen up the primary surface to an edge-able packed powder. The overnight forecast is calling for temperatures in the low 30s accompanied by a chance for some rain showers. Tomorrow we are expecting a high in the mid-to-upper 40s along with sunshine. Skiers can expect soft frozen granular, especially where the sun touches the snow. Access to our mountain will be serviced by the Single, Sunnyside Double and Practice Slope lifts from 8:30 AM until 4:00 PM. The Birdland Double and Callie’s Corner Handle Tow will operate between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Please check back regularly for updates as conditions and trail counts are ever changing.

PARKING WARNING

You may have noticed there are more "no parking" signs along Route 17 than in the past. Please respect the state regulations and do not park your vehicle over the white line or in any portion of the active travel lane. VTrans has warned us that improperly parked cars are subject to towing. Please carpool if you can and allow our lot attendants to fill the parking area as effectively as possible.  We also request that you don't park on the private roads and driveways on the mountain. Thanks for your help.
