We scored 1-3" of snow today after yesterdays warm-up. We were pretty darn fortunate weather-wise yesterday as we saw some heavy fog but never any significant precipitation. Fortunately for us the snow surface absorbed the moisture and we didn't lose any snow as temps hovered around the freezing mark. With falling temperatures overnight and today the skiing surfaces firmed up a bit and are now best described as firm packed powder and frozen granular. It would be disingenuous to say we're still enjoying hero conditions but the coverage would make you think the calendar read February not December. The lower angle terrain especially off the double, skied pretty darn nicely. The steeper, un-groomed trails were a tad crusty but eminently edge-able with pockets of fluff in the troughs and along the edges. On Friday we plan to crank up the Single Chair & SunnySide Double from 9 AM until 3:45 PM with nearly 100% (Upper Paradise is Closed) of our main mountain terrain wide open!
