It looks like Sunday may be a great day to make the pilgrimage to Mad River Glen as we expect beautiful, sunny skies and temps that should bust the freezing mark - REALLY! On Thursday night into Friday we scored 7" of new snow on the summit, 5" at mid-station, 3" at Tower #9, and a sloppy inch at the base. The conditions today were legitimate mid-winter, packed powder.  The upper half of the mountain offered better conditions than the lower half which was a bit on the crunchier side.  In any other season this would have been considered a phenomenal ski day for January or February but we have all gotten a bit jaded this year. Sure there are some slick spots in between some of the moguls and down at the lower elevations but the vast majority of the skiing is eminently edge-able packed powder. The snow cover on the mountain is phenomenal as the base remains incredibly deep . Grooming will be aggressive once again tonight with as many as 21 of our blues and greens set to be rolled out for your skiing pleasure. On Sunday skiers can expect to enjoy 100% of our legendary terrain serviced by all 5 lifts from 8:30 AM to 4 PM (Callie's Corner Handle Tow and Birdland will turn from 10 AM to 3 PM).
