It was a little funky to start this morning as there was a thin glaze on top of the skiing surfaces. Human groomin' certainly helped and the conditions improved with every run. The old Mad River Glen snow globe was given a vigorous shake yesterday rendering us a solid 4-5" of velvety snow. It was followed by some mixed precipitation that left a bit of a crust over everything. Skiing surfaces have the consistency of cake frosting left out overnight. On Sunday our plan is to operate 3 of our 5 lifts servicing nearly 100% of our legendary main mountain terrain. Forecasts are calling for warmer temps along with a few sprinkles which will, frankly, be good for the skiing surfaces especially with more skier traffic. We always urge our skiers to be aware and ski with care as there are there are some snow snakes lurking.
You may have noticed there are more "no parking" signs along Route 17 than in the past. Please respect the state regulations and do not park your vehicle over the white line or in any portion of the active travel lane. VTrans has warned us that improperly parked cars are subject to towing. Please carpool if you can and allow our lot attendants to fill the parking area as effectively as possible. Thanks for your help.
