It's the Big World Prologue on the 1st, the Sugarbush Circuit Race on the 2nd, the Harpoon Brewery Road Race on the 3rd, and the Louis Garneau Burlington Criteriumin on the 4th. If you haven't been in town for the GMSR before you should as it is an event not to be missed!

September 30, 2008Last Day 2007-08 Mad Money is ValidThe last day of the Co-op's fiscal year. All Mad Money that is part of each shareholders APR becomes void today. If you have Mad $ beyond the $200 APR you must return it to the office today for a credit.

October 4, 2008Stark Mountain Hill Climb Running RaceRun from the base to the summit of Gen. Stark Mountain taking any route you wish. All proceeds support the Stark Mountain Foundation's campaign to aid in the historic restoration of the Single Chair. There will also be a supervised Stark Mountain Kids Run, the registration is free for kids whose parents are registered in the Stark Mountain Hill Climb.

Cost: $20 Pre-registration, $25 Day of Race

October 5, 2008Allen Clark Memorial Hill Climb Bike RaceBike the Appalachian Gap for a Good Cause The Allen Clark Bicycle Hill Climb is named in honor of long-time Mad River Valley resident, Allen Clark. Allen especially loved the challenge of the Appalachian Gap. This event is a tribute to Allen's life and a fundraiser for Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports The Facts Start time: 10:00AM Start: Stark Mountain Bike Works, Route 100& Route 17 Finish: Top of Applachian Gap Length: 6.2 miles Vertical climb: 1,600 feet Race format: Time trial, one-minute intervals Registration fee: $25 Prizes: medals to the top three men and women in age categories, post-race shwag raffle A prize of $100 to any man or woman who can set a new course record. Men’s record: 24:59, by Stefan Bumbeck, 1998 Women’s record: 28:44, by Audrey Augustin, 2001 Trophies will be awarded to the man and woman with the best combined times for the bike race and Saturday’s Stark Mountain Hill Climb footrace.
