Since the beginning, Mad River Glen has been a venue for racing. From sanctioned F.I.S. events to fun, family-oriented competition, our history is steeped in racing. Today, Mad River Glen offers a range of traditional and non-traditional races and events with it's own "Ski it if You Can" twist. Check out the complete Race Schedule. Our race department is headed by Jim Komarmi who oversees its season long children's race program as well as college, high school, club and fun races. Racing at Mad River Glen

  • Family Tournament: The legendaryannual race amongst families for bragging rights, trophies and a piece of history.  Register once, select the categories and take your two race runs. Your best result counts towards your category ranking. No experience or special equipment needed to race. Categories:
    • Overall Family
    • Father-Son
    • Mother-Daugther
    • Mother-Son
    • Father-Daughter
    • Brother-Sister
    • Brother-Brother
    • Sister-Sister
    • Mother-Father
    • Grandfather-Grandson
    • Grandmother-Granddaughter
    • Grandfather-Granddaughter
    • Grandmother-Grandson
  • Devo Duals: The annual MRG Ski School races between ski groups for bragging rights amongst ski buddies and a chance to challenge your instructor to a dual.
  • Mad River Glen Junior Race Program: The season-long race program for skiers age 6-15. The program begins with dryland training in early October with training 2-4 days a week during the season, local and regional races and optional camps. Athletes may be required to have memberships to Vermont Alpine Racing Association (VARA), United States Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA), Mad River Ski Club and have equipment that meets USSA safety standards.   • Mad River Club and Interclub Races: Mad River Glen hosts races for many of our legacy ski clubs and between legacy ski clubs. Nothing like good-natured competition between ski buddies and ski clubs to raise the fun level.
