Single Chair Campaign Reaches Goal

A lot of people said it couldn’t be done, but the Mad River Glen Cooperative smashed its goal by raising over $1.7 million in donations to fund the historic restoration of the mountain’s iconic Single Chair. The fundraising campaign was made possible by unique partnerships with two non-profit groups, the Stark Mountain Foundation and Preservation Trust of Vermont. This collaboration allowed Mad River Glen to raise tax-deductible charitable dollars to finance the project. . more

Midweek Preschool Program Gets Kids to Say "I Can"

The Mad River Glen Ski School will once again be offering the popular Midweek Pre-school program this season. It is designed to offer families with children ages 4, 5, and 6 a fun, affordable ski experience. Skier to teacher ratios are kept low to promote a quality on-snow experience. Roll Back the Clock Day

The last Tuesday in January is always an important day at Mad River Glen. It’s the day the ski area with the famous, "Ski It If You Can" bumper sticker, celebrates the anniversary of its grand opening in 1949. This year, Roll Back the Clock Day will be held on Tuesday, January 29. Mad River Glen will celebrate its 58th Birthday with lift tickets costing $3.50, the 1949 price. more

Triple Crown Mogul Challenge

Once again, Mad River will host it’s Mogul Challenge on Saturday, March 14th. The Mogul Challenge is the third and final leg of The Triple Crown Challenge, a season long series designed to crown Mad River Glen’s best all-around skier. The series consists of the Unconventional Terrain Competition, the Vertical Challenge, and the Mogul Challenge. more

Mountaineering Race

Mad River Glen and Sugarbush are once again teaming up to host the only New England’s event in the United States Ski Mountaineering Association’s (USSMA) prestigious Randonnee Rally Ski Mountaineering Race Series. The Mad River Valley event will take place on Sunday February 8, 2008. more

Triple Crown Vertical Challenge

The 10th Annual Mad River Glen Vertical Challenge will take place Friday, February 27. The grueling event challenges competitors to ski as many runs as they can in one day, on Mad River’s famous Single Chair.  To make things even tougher, the competitors are required to ski directly under the chair, a route that cascades down Chute and Lift Line, two of Mad River Glen’s most difficult trails. more
