Mad River Glen

Today

Greetings from Mad River Glen,

The snow has really started to pile up here on General Stark Mountain and things are looking mighty wintery as of late. Last week we picked up 8-10″ of fluffy powder which settled in nicely over the weekend with mild temperatures. Early this week we were hit with a new system which moved into the Valley on Monday resulting in 4-6″ of snow. A brief period of mixed precipitation left a layer of crust mixed into the snow which should lock things into place, just what the mountain needs this time of year! We’re still eyeing a December 14th opening as long as Mother Nature permits and it could be sooner if these weather conditions continue. Fear not, if you’re out of town you can always keep an eye on the action via Mad River Valley Real Estate webcams. This year we’ve added a new tour stop to the Birdcage camera, thanks to our friends at Cabot Creamery Cooperative for the awesome new snow stake!

Upcoming Events:

November 23: Big Kicker @ Mount Ellen

December 14: Projected Opening Day!
