MRG Racing Triple Crown – Family Tournament
Feb 18 @ 11:30 am – 2:30 pm

The Family Tournament originated as the Father-Son race and dates back to 1942 when it was originally held on the flanks of Mount Mansfield (Stowe). In its modern form, it is a race open to anyone who wants to participate. Racers complete a family-friendly GS course where a racer’s best time from two runs (attempts) is counted. The time is then added together with other family members (by blood relationship) in the following categories and prizes are awarded. In some cases, there are coveted trophies that live permanently at MRG for all to admire. The Family Tournament is the first leg of the MRG Racing Triple Crown.

The MRG Racing Triple Crown combines three celebrated legacy events and crowns an overall category champions!

    1. The Family Tournament (January 15, 2023) is a family-friendly event where a competitor’s result is added together with other family members’ individual results to complete scoring and celebrate the fastest family combo.
    2. The storied Kandahar (February 11, 2023) is MRG’s modern version of a full mountain ski race. It rewards those who can ski gates as well as terrain and conditions on the trail.
    3. The Rockefeller Challenge (March 11, 2023) is a test of fearlessness and speed where competitors tuck straight downhill and glide uphill to find the skier who goes the furthest.

Combine and register for all three events now and save!

A valid lift ticket or season pass is required. Lift ticket not included in the entry fee.

Ages 10 & up as of 1/1/23. You must complete a registration for each family member who will be racing. Please log in below (if you are already in MRG’s system) or create a new account for each racer.

Amateur/Montclair Ski Club Races – GS & SL @ MRG
Feb 19 @ 8:30 am – 4:00 pm

Ski Club racing has always been a fixture on the slopes of Gen. Stark Mountain. Mad River’s founder Roland Palmedo also founded the Amateur Ski Club of NY and provided the land for an on-mountain house. A big supporter of amateur ski racing he instituted club races that endure to this day. Look out for the ASCNY yellow race bibs! Montclair or Amateur – who you got?

Nikwax Demo Day
Feb 19 @ 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

Nikwax have developed easy-to-use, highly effective and long-lasting after-care treatments for all weatherproof fabrics. The treatments contain elastic water-repellent polymers that bond to fabric fibers, leaving the spaces between open and breathable. They stretch and move with the fabric so they work better and last longer. Nikwax will not change the look or feel of the fabric, it will just protect and prolong its useable life. The treatments are water-based, environmentally safe and non-flammable. Ideal for all types of outdoor equipment and accessories.
