Ski Club racing has always been a fixture on the slopes of Gen. Stark Mountain. Mad River’s founder Roland Palmedo also founded the Amateur Ski Club of NY and provided the land for an on-mountain house. A big supporter of amateur ski racing he instituted club races that endure to this day. Look out for the ASCNY yellow race bibs! Montclair or Amateur – who you got?
Nikwax have developed easy-to-use, highly effective and long-lasting after-care treatments for all weatherproof fabrics. The treatments contain elastic water-repellent polymers that bond to fabric fibers, leaving the spaces between open and breathable. They stretch and move with the fabric so they work better and last longer. Nikwax will not change the look or feel of the fabric, it will just protect and prolong its useable life. The treatments are water-based, environmentally safe and non-flammable. Ideal for all types of outdoor equipment and accessories.

This year’s StorySki event is set to take place on Saturday, February 25th and is open to skiers aged 3 to 10, the panels will be displayed in the woods to the skiers’ right next to Lower Panther. The StorySki is based on the idea of the StoryWalk, a project that originated in Montpelier at the Kellogg-Hubbard Library and has spread throughout the world. Laminated pages from a children’s book are installed along an outdoor path. As you stroll down the trail, you’re directed to the next page in the story. It was created as a way for children to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time.
This year’s StorySki will feature “The Red Sled” – https://www.youtube.com/watch?
The book, Red Sled by Lita Judge will be featured in this year’s StorySki. This whimsical book depicted in bold, beautiful watercolors is a wintertime story about woodland creatures. The adventure begins when they find a well-loved, red sled outside of a cozy cabin and take a nighttime joy ride. We hope you enjoy skiing from page to page and reading this beautiful story.
