SUMMARY:Opening Day of the 2025/2026 Ski Season
DESCRIPTION:December 11\, 1948 Mad River Glen opened to the public for the first time\, whisking skiers 2000 vertical feet to the summit of Stark Mountain on the Single. The American Steel & Wire Company had installed nearly 600 of these state-of-the-art aerial tramway systems across the country and together with Roland Palmedo brought lift-served skiing to the Mad River Valley.

DESCRIPTION:The Family Tournament originated as the Father-Son race and dates back to 1942 when it was originally held on the flanks of Mount Mansfield (Stowe). In its modern form\, it is a race open to anyone who wants to participate. Racers complete a family-friendly GS course where a racer’s best time from two runs (attempts) is counted. The time is then added together with other family members (by blood relationship) in the following categories and prizes are awarded. SUMMARY:Naturalist Guided Snowshoe Tours
DESCRIPTION:Each and every Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 AM you can join one of our Naturalists for a guided snowshoe trek tailored to your interests in the ecology and wildlife of Stark Mountain! Our outings and content vary each week\, depending on snow conditions and participants. Learn about the hardwood forests of the Green Mountains\, as well as our resident moose\, bear\, deer\, fisher\, coyote\, red fox and more! Snowshoe rentals are available for only $15 with the program! \nPlease note: Advanced registration is required. To request a reservation please fill out the Reservation Request Form prior to your visit. Naturalist Programs start at 10:30 AM. DESCRIPTION:Formerly known as the Graybeard’s Clinic\, this program is re-designed for men of all ages who are intermediate to advanced skiers. The program’s focus will be on learning how to fully enjoy the Mad River Glen skiing experience by deepening fundamental skills and then applying them to the mountain’s legendary terrain. Participants will learn to ski groomers\, bumps and trees better and with more confidence.
