SUMMARY:Live Music Aprés by Madigan Linnane
DESCRIPTION:Madigan Linnane is an emerging musician with roots in Grafton Massachusetts and now resides in The Mad River Valley in Vermont. Her thoughtful lyrics\, drawn from emotional life experiences\, combine with a modern folk/pop/indie musical style producing songs that appeal to broad audiences. \nOver the last several years she has delighted listeners with performances in coffee shops\, restaurants\, country clubs\, farmer’s markets and a variety of private events. A versatile musician performing a mix of originals and covers\, Madigan plays acoustic guitar\, ukulele and piano and is best known for her velvety\, tender vocal style and original songwriting. Madigan took first place in Padavano’s Place 2018 Singer-Songwriter contest by performing 3 original songs including her Christmas song\, Snow Falls. Victor Infante of the Worcester Telegram wrote that she “…has a way of focusing on the joy her persona finds in other people’s delight\, a perspective that skirts the consumerism of the season.” \nMadigan began writing music when she was 10 years old and released her first EP entitled Beautiful Me in 2019\, containing 6 original songs chronicling the touching moments she experienced in her formative years. \nMadigan is currently attending Berklee College of Music to pursue her passion for music.

SUMMARY:Family Tournament
DESCRIPTION:The Family Tournament originated as the Father-Son race and dates back to 1942 when it was originally held on the flanks of Mount Mansfield (Stowe). In its modern form\, it is a race open to anyone who wants to participate. Racers complete a family-friendly GS course where a racer’s best time from two runs (attempts) is counted. The time is then added together with other family members (by blood relationship) in the following categories and prizes are awarded. In some cases\, there are coveted trophies that live permanently at MRG for all to admire. \nAll racers should register in the MRG Online Store. \nFamily Tournament Race Schedule:\n9am-10am: course inspection/preview\n10am: Racing opens to anyone 7 years and under and all grandparents\n10:30 am: Racing opens to all (FIFO)\n1:30 pm: Race Closes\n2:30 pm: Awards (location tbd) \nCategories: \n\nFather-Son\nMother-Daughter\nMother-Son\nFather-Daughter\nHusband-Wife\nGrandmother-Granddaughter\nGrandfather-Grandson\nGrandfather-Granddaughter\nGrandmother-Grandson\nBrother-Sister\nBrother-Brother\nSister-Sister\nAnd Grand Family\n\n2024 RESULTS HERE \nThe MRG Racing Triple Crown combines three celebrated legacy events and crowns an overall category champions! \n\n\n\nThe Family Tournament is a family-friendly event where a competitor’s result is added together with other family members’ individual results to complete scoring and celebrate the fastest family combo.\nThe storied Kandahar is MRG’s modern version of a full mountain ski race. It rewards those who can ski gates as well as terrain and conditions on the trail.\nThe Rockefeller Challenge is a test of fearlessness and speed where competitors tuck straight downhill and glide uphill to find the skier who goes the furthest.\n\n\n\nCombine and register for all three events and save! \nA valid lift ticket or season pass is required. Lift ticket not included in the entry fee. \nAges 10 & up as of 1/1/24. You must complete a registration for each family member who will be racing. Please log in below (if you are already in MRG’s system) or create a new account for each racer. \nDisclaimer: Weather and conditions dependent. There are no refunds on the entry fee for any reason\, including in the event of date change\, cancellation\, or inability to participate. We reserve the right to change or modify any of the perimeters of the race including but not limited to start time\, date\, location\, course\, finish and awards in the interest of event security.

Volunteer Mountain Work Days are a great chance to get out on the mountain\, care for your favorite terrain\, and learn about how northeastern mountain forests grow. It is hard work\, but also fun and satisfying to see a ski line take shape\, and how trees will grow in response to care. \nWe welcome both experienced veterans and newcomers to the mountain work days.
