SUMMARY:Graybeard's Clinic
DESCRIPTION:The Graybeard’s Clinic is designed for men who are intermediate to advanced skiers. The clinic will focus on learning to fully enjoy the Mad River Glen skiing experience by deepening fundamental skills and then applying those skills to the varied terrain that makes Mad River special. Participants will learn to ski groomers and the bumps better and with more confidence – making it more fun and joyful. We will also focus on specific mechanics that are a bit easier on your body\, thus enhancing your overall ski experience here at Mad River Glen and wherever your skis may take you. \nThe clinic will be led by Rick Ruback who has been coaching ski racing at Mad River for over twenty years. Rick is excited to bring some racing skills and drills into adult teaching as a way to help the participants improve their skiing. Joining Rick will be a collection of some of the most experienced members of the Mad River Glen Ski School. \nDates: Mondays January 22\, 29\, February 5\, 12 & 26\, March 4 & 11 \nTime: 9:30 am – 12:00 pm \nCost: $329 7 week session (valid ticket or pass required) \nREQUEST A RESERVATION

SUMMARY:Rockefeller Challenge
DESCRIPTION:  \nAn annual test of fearlessness and speed\, the Rockefeller Challenge is a downhill to uphill ski race. Starting on the Practice Slope\, competitors try to carry their speed down a designated race lane and up the Rockefeller trail. Like the sport of ski jumping where the skier who goes the farthest wins\, the person to makes it the furthest up the Rockefeller Trail\, is victorious and crowned a racing titan. Proceeds to benefit MRG Ski Club. \nEvent Date: March 16\, 2024 \nRegister Online Here! \nEntry Fee: $25 entry \nField Limit: 100 competitors\, all ages \nAthlete Lift: Tentatively 4:20 pm \nEvent Begins: 4:30 pm \nOther: Rockefeller and Racing Triple Crown shirts will be available for purchase at bib pickup on the day of the event. DESCRIPTION:Mad River Glen\, the birthplace of New England’s competitive freeskiing is proud to be hosting a Friendly Freeski competition. If you have been curious about entering the competitive freeski arena then this event is for you! The freeski friendly is a fun event designed to give everyone a new perspective on competitive freeskiing. This event is open to all age groups. It is a one run competition. The freeski friendly\, hosted by the Mad River Glen Freeski Team is a fundraiser for the Mad River Glen Ski Club. There are NO REFUNDS. \nImportant Registration Information: \n\nRegistration Cost – $30 (Lift tickets are required but not included).\nOnline Registration\nDay-of-event registration $40 CASH ONLY!\nThe competition is a one-run event.\nU18 helmet & back protector required.\nThe venue is to be determined and will be revealed in the competitor’s meeting.\n\nJudging Criteria \n\nLine Choice: Each competitor chooses their line down the course. High scores are given for choosing difficult routes. Difficulty is determined by steepness\, exposure\, air\, snow and course conditions.\nControl: Competitors must remain in control at all times. Any loss of control will result in a lower score. Skillful recoveries will reduce penalties.\nFluidity: Constant direction towards a goal. This includes continuity\, pace\, and smooth transitions between sections of the course. Falling or stopping can have a negative impact in this category\nTechnique: Competitors are judged on style and turn quality relating to big mountain freeriding.\nStyle & Energy: This encompasses the pace\, energy and creativity with which a competitor attacks or descends his/her chosen line or route.
