Rockefeller Challenge

Rockefeller Challenge: A tucking race down the Practice Slope and up Rockefellers. It’s a test of technique, aerodynamics, waxing and a wee bit of luck!

Adults 18 years old and above: $20

Juniors through high school: $15

March 13th @ 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm

Important Information:


Proceeds from this event go to benefit the Mad River Glen Race Club and are non-refundable.

Competitors check-in at the base of the Practice Slope lift at 4:00 pm.

No bibs will be handed out this year.

Speed and distance will be announced after each age category.

There are no practice runs before the event.

Tucking the Practice Slope outside of the competition may result in disqualification.

All COVID-19 policies and procedures will be in effect for the event.

Maintain 6 feet of distance.

No gathering in groups.

Masks must be worn over your nose and mouth at all times, except when skiing your run.

  • 4:25 PM – Participants load Lift 4.
  • 4:45pm – Event Begins

  • U19 M/W (junior reg. fee)
  • U50 M/W (adult reg fee)
  • 50+ M/W(adult reg fee)


  • “Best in Show” – costume (overall)
  • Fastest (overall)
  • Farthest (each category)

Rules and format:

  • One run, straight run event.
  • No Practice Runs
  • No Going backward on the course. Participants must follow the direction of race staff.
  • Speed trap at the PS bridge
  • Safe equipment: all equipment must be modern and serviceable by certified ski technicians
  • No speed suits or lycra allowed
  • Helmets required
  • Unsafe weather, visibility, snow conditions will cancel the event.
