December 2000 Management Report

MEETING MINUTES HISTORIC ARCHIVE

Type

Year

Mountain was opened on December 15th with lift 1 and lift 4. Skiing was reasonably good, heavy rain came in on the 17th and while we continued to operate skiing surfaces became very hard. Small snow squalls through the week of the 18th improved conditions. Cold weather hurt skier days the early part of Xmas week. The weekend snowstorm brought great conditions and the skier volume on Sunday maxed out the facility.

Paid Skier days were for the week which was ahead of budget and as compared to last year we are skier days ahead.

Mountain Operations:

All lifts were turning during the Xmas week until Sunday when Birdland went down due an electrical problem. It is anticipated that this lift will be back on line by January 6th.

Snowmaking operated around the clock up to Christmas Eve. Snowmaking was productive this year as the electrical upgrades made to the system kept down time to almost nothing. Temperatures for snowmaking were almost perfect, as yield per hour was very high. The practice slope was done in under a week, which is the quickest it has ever been done.

Lift Operations ran well all week with adequate staff to meet the needs.

Ski School had a very good holiday week being sold out 3 days.

Race Program is underway with enthusiasm, well-attended pizza social during Xmas week.

Naturalists program had an excellent turn out for the Tubbs day on Saturday December 30th. We had full programs both in the AM and PM.

Food & Beverage struggled through its first busy week under new manager and almost all-new staff. Certain individuals in this department did more than fair share to help a trying situation. Remedies for problems in this area are being explored and may be reported on at the Board meeting.

Share Sales Status

See Attached for November and December reports. Lead inventory is building.

Shareholder Communications:

“Chute” publication is on target. Minutes for November meeting were not put out on list server, management was negligent in not doing this.

Capital:

Tired plan is a separate agenda for this meeting. Projects for the past capital year have either been completed as originally laid out or have been modified to reflect adjustments in projects.
