Post Priorities with a ski area's budget
The $64 question before the decision of whether man made snow is to be expanded is where is the reliable supply of water coming from? How much water is optimuim? Storing water is a challenge in the mountains, especially if gravel is the primary soil. Are there any sacrificial rock lined canyons available? Have you priced bentonite? A man-made reservoir is costly and no guarantee. How about a pipe from the river? The river is probably too low of a flow in the winter to be considered. Everyone who is thinking about the end results of blowing snow at 2300 ft. needs to back up and first cover the what?, where?, when?, & how?, on the subject of finding water and moving water (all within an affordable price range). After you help solve MRG with an inexpensive means, I hear California is looking for water!; maybe a pipe tapping the great lakes is a fair trade for vegetables.
