Volunteer Days at Mad River Glen
Well the sun is shining and the weather is finally drying out here on the mountain.
I'm posting this today as a follow up to the Echo (now online) and the posting on the MRG daily report from yesterday.
With another summer upon us we are re-firing the volunteer efforts from last year again to help maintain and beautify our mountain.
With many thanks to Vivian (and Fritz) as well as all of last years participants we will try to keep this seasons efforts simple and focused.
As of now we are ready to fire up this weekend, Sat. June 11 to give our base area a freshening up. Timing will be post Board Mtg. so plan
on a noon time start. We will begin with the new enclosed structure around lift 4 (the practice hill). Saturdays work will involve priming the new enclosure, and perhaps given time and people power some prep work necessary to paint the sunny Side double building as well.
The weather reports are very promising at this time. We have a few folk who've already signed on to aid in this effort but are certainly looking for a few more to make this effort quick and efficient. Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
or call 802-496-9705 if you are able and available to participate.
Future endeavors include painting the Bird Cage trim slated for June 18th...some high ladder work involved.
Also painting of the single and double lift buildings slated for June 25.
Additionally we are looking for volunteers to aid and abet in the building of the MRG float for the world famous July 4th Warren parade.
Timing for this will be following the July 3rd B-B-Q at the base area.
We are purposely front loading the summer season this year in an effort to keep momentum high and not conflict with folks summer vacations etc.
Again please contact me at the above email or phone for any and all events you might have interest in.
Have a great day!
