Hi Gordie,
Don't take this wrong, but I am at a loss.

I like to think that I am fairly Computer literate, but after several minutes I could not figure out how to download that word doc. in this post. I notice also that there were 56 views and only 8 downloads ??

I'm not being negative here, but if I cannot quickly see it, something has to be clarified/cleaned up !!!

My Thoughts.
This BBd is not receiving the usage hoped for, and there may be a reason that we have to discover and fix !!

Hi Gordie,

We'll see where this posts.

I found the small type at bottom of your post.

I scrubbed my mouse all over the place trying to find a link to download.

Must have passed over it too quickly before my last post.
[far to hard to find the link to download the .doc file]

I downloaded the .doc file.

Personal opinion:
A lot of hard work on your part.

Contains much too much than I feel most folks want to have to digest in order to use this forum.

I was and still am a strong supporter of finding a better way than the original "list serv" but at least folks did see the emails. Although there was a "paltry" number of subscribers to that !!!

My biggest issue with the list serve was that there was no "filing of messages" and folks would jump into the middle of a discussion with no clue as to what was discussed yesterday !!

Possibly worth looking into WebBBS 5.00.

You do have to open the link in your browser as you have to do with our current forum.

Difference is:
A sequential listing of post for 2 days (likely can be altered) is displayed by subject (what you call topic).
When viewing a post you then get a list of all of the posts in that thread and you can easily work your way back to view the "history".

A reply to any post displays as a "new post" but with an appropriate link back to the original/prior post and you can easily work your way back from there. Sure solves the "filing problem" of folks losing track of the prior discussion.

Gordie, I am not trying to be critical, just helpful. I don't think that the current forum has yet been accepted. I am struggling for a solution whereby all of our members will participate. That, I am sure is wishful thinking !!!!!

Take care, and enjoy the Snow and Skiing ......
This problem won't get solved this season.

Lee, thanks for the input. I agree that the forum may not be the best way to go. But we wanted to give it a shot before we tossed it under the bus.
