Mad River Today

Updated on Wednesday January 28, 2015

MAD RIVER GLEN'S 66th anniversary was celebrated yesterday with a heavy snowfall, which resulted in a fresh 4-6" of new snow. The precipitation was accompanied by cold temperatures and gusty winds resulting in fine snow flakes, which loaded into protected areas. For skiers today this means fresh tracks on and off piste, with the majority of the new snow settling into the nooks and crannies amongst the trees. Our famous woods and glades have exquisite packed powder coverage. On the trails you'll find some fluff still lingering on the tops of moguls and along the trail edge with just enough firmness underneath to remind you that, yes, this is still New England. We are in the heart of the winter season and are enjoying some magnificent skiing conditions. If you have been waiting to ski Mad River Glen with the opportunity to explore all this legendary mountain has to offer, the time to do it is now. Last night the cats were on the loose rolling out the corduroy on one-third of our main mountain trails leaving a nice selection of novice and intermediate trails for skiers to enjoy today. 100% of our main mountain terrain is open today serviced by 3 of 5 lifts scheduled to spin from 9 AM to 4 PM. Come on up and see for yourself, you never know until you go, go, GO!
