Event Series: SMF Presents

StorySki

February 21 @ 10:30 am - 2:30 pm

The Stark Mountain Foundation will be sponsoring the 8th Annual StorySki on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 10:30 to 2:30. The StorySki is based on the idea of the StoryWalk, a project that originated in Montpelier at the Kellogg-Hubbard Library and has spread throughout the world. Laminated pages from a children’s book are installed along an outdoor path. As you stroll down the trail, you’re directed to the next page in the story. It was created as a way for children to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time.

This year’s book is, “I Wish It Would Snow!” by Sarah Dillard is a children’s picture book about a rabbit who wishes for snow, gets more than he bargained for, and then wishes for it to stop, only to want it back again, teaching a lesson about contentmentThe book features a charismatic rabbit in a red turtleneck and uses sparse text with expressive illustrations to capture the cycle of wanting and satisfaction, making it ideal for young readers. Grab a copy today!

Pre-registration for the event is strongly encouraged. The event is free, but everyone will need a lift ticket to participate.
