Helping Local Kids Ski Free

MRG’s new Skiing for Scholars Program is starting this Friday. This innovative program works to afford local kids the opportunity to enjoy the sport of skiing. It is available to all students enrolled in the Harwood (all Valley schools and Waterbury) and Addison Northeast (Bristol/Lincoln area) Supervisory Unions.

The Program Offers;

  • Free all-mountain lift tickets for students from 2-5pm
  • Extended lift and skiing operations off of Lift 4 (Practice Hill) until 5pm. See trail map for reference.
  • Free Rentals of skis(pre-registration is required and availability is limited, reserve via email or call (802) 496-3551 ext. 127). Parents must be present to sign forms.
  • Free Learn to Ski program for 6 weeks featuring an hour and a half group lesson with Mad River Glen Ski School instructors Lessons will be offered from 3:00-4:30pm. Limited to 40 students (pre-registration is required, reserve via email or call (802) 496-3551 ext. 125
  • Free “Fast Start”, an introduction to racing for the more experienced skiers interested in learning basic ski race techniques and the thrill of running set courses with video analysis. Led by a MRG Race Team coach. The group will meet weekly from 3:30 to 4:30pm. Pre-registration is required, reserve via email or call (802) 496-3551 ext. 126
  • Offered on Friday afternoons from February 15, 2019 to March 29, 2019
