Mow Crew
Mow some grass, earn your pass! Mow crew is the best way to get an intimate look at all of the nooks and crannies of Stark Mountain, burn some calories and make new ski buddies. At the end of the 10 days of work you'll have earned some cash for your pocket and a full season's pass for the upcoming winter. A little run down on how we mow our trails… We use hand scythes to cut the grass, ferns…

Opening Day of the 2026/2027 Ski Season
December 11, 1948 Mad River Glen opened to the public for the first time, whisking skiers 2000 vertical feet to the summit of Stark Mountain on the Single. The American Steel & Wire Company had installed nearly 600 of these state-of-the-art aerial tramway systems across the country and together with Roland Palmedo brought lift-served skiing to the Mad River Valley.
