Woods Skiing Policy

No one loves and appreciates woods skiing more than Mad River Glen. Please enjoy this unique aspect of the Mad River Glen ski experience by following our common-sense policies.

• The Mad River Glen Ski Patrol does not patrol the woods.

• Skiers must enter and exit the woods via an open trail.

• Always ski with at least 3 people in the woods.

(In case of injury: 1 gets help & 1 to stays with injured skier)

• Never ski the woods after 3 PM

(We don’t want to look for you in the dark!)

• Never ski in a designated re-generation zone

(The forest and future generations of skiers will love you for it!)

• Do not leave the ski area boundary

(It’s not our property and it’s not patrolled)
